This feature in QuickBooks Enterprise keeps a detailed log of every change to your books, recording who made each edit, when, and what the values were before and after. You meet it in the Audit Log report, when tracing who altered a transaction, a customer, or an item. The extra detail helps with accountability, though a long audit history also adds real bulk to a company file. When the log has outlived its purpose, we can remove the audit trail from the file.
